Drew Hutchison’s eight strikes power Jays past Orioles

Toronto, ON, Canada (4E Sports) – Drew Hutchison struck out eight over 8 2/3 innings while allowing just one hit as the Blue Jays crushed the Baltimore Orioles, 5-1 Wednesday at Rogers Centre.

Singles by Dioner Navarro and Danny Valencia gave the Jays a 2-0 advantage in the first.

Chris Davis homered in the second to cut the Jays lead to 2-1.

Jose Bautista answered with a two-run homer that also plated Melky Cabrera to make it 4-1.

Bautista drove another run in the sixth, this time by a double, for a 5-1 Jays lead.

Hutchison (8-9) allowed just one hit, a solo homer by Chris Davis in the second.

Orioles starter Wei-Yin Chen (12-4) struck out six and walked two while allowing four runs and eight hits in five innings.
