Oakland, CA, United States (NewsBahn) – A bomb threat reportedly closed a major public transit route between San Francisco and Oakland for over two hours Tuesday night.
Berkeley, Oakland and towns east of San Francisco and the city were affected as the key hub West Oakland BART station was shut down.
A caller reportedly told police around 7 p.m. about an explosive device on an AC Transit bus located near the tracks, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
The bus was evacuated and the threat looked into and 2 1/2 hours later BART reported its trains as up and running.
“Police confirm no explosive device found on the bus. BART trains are running through Transbay Tube, but not stopping at W. Oakland,” tweeted KABC TV.
