Indianapolis, IN, United States (4E Sports) – Kentucky will take on Kansas while Duke clashes with Michigan State in the Champions Classic that will be played Nov. 18 in Indianapolis.
The Champions Classic will feature the nation’s best freshmen, including Duke’s Jahlil Okafor, Kentucky’s Trey Lyles and Kansas’ Cliff Alexander.
Aside from the Champions Classic, ESPN released the pairings for seven more college basketball tournaments Wednesday.
Including eight tournament brackets that were revealed Tuesday, a total of 15 tournaments will be broadcast over ESPN’s family of networks.
The Maui Invitational will take place Nov. 24-26 and has a field led by Arizona, which reached the Elite Eight last season. Included in the event are Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas State and Purdue, San Diego State, BYU, Pittsburgh and Chaminade.
Madison Square Garden will host two tournaments starting with the 2K Classic on Nov. 20-21 and the Jimmy V Classic on December 9.
The sub-region games are played on campus with the semifinals a predetermined mix. Texas will play Iowa in the semifinals while California will take on Syracuse in the other semifinal game.
Louisville and Indiana are the main protagonists in the Jimmy V Classic while Illinois and Villanova will play the other game in the doubleheader.
The Legends Classic will be played Nov. 24-25 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn while the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip Off Classic is Nov. 22-23 at Mohegan Sun casino in Uncasville, Connecticut.
The CBE Hall of Fame Classic is scheduled Nov. 24-25 in Kansas City where Maryland, Arizona State. Alabama and Iowa State will see action.
