Las Vegas, NE, United States (4E Sports) – Team USA Coach Mike Krzyzewski commends Derrick Rose’s ability to return at an elite level while training with the nationals, this after missing almost two NBA seasons due to injuries.
Krzyzewski stated, “It takes an exceptional person, which is why we’re talking about Derrick.”
The international-winning coach lauds Rose’s ability to come back after two major injuries.
Rose eagerly went at it at Team USA’s first practice playing splendid defense in trying to make a statement.
The former league MVP continues to impress his Team USA teammates and coaches preparing for the World Cup.
They are constantly speaking about Rose, who is playing like he did before two injury-plagued years.
“Derrick was sensational the whole week,” Krzyzewski added.
The national team coach said Rose is providing excitement in training camp.
The 25-year-old is displaying his former speed, strength, and aggressiveness every day with Team USA.
Rose is considered as one of the players who already have a slot for the final World Cup lineup.
The former rookie of the year tore his ACL in his left knee before the 2012-2013 season.
Rose did not play that year, recovering from the injury and promised a strong comeback last season.
In the 2013-2014 season, Rose played 10 games before tearing his meniscus in his right knee in a game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
In ten games played, he averaged 15.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists.
