Dioner Navarro’s three RBI’s power Jays past Red Sox

Boston, MA, United States (4E Sports) – Dioner Navarro had three RBIs and three hits to lead the Toronto Blue Jays past the Boston Red Sox 6-1 on Wednesday at Fenway Park.

Jays starter Mark Buehrle (11-7) allowed one run on six hits and a walk while striking out two in 6 2/3 innings.

The Jays took a 2-0 lead in the first inning after a single by Navarro and a fielder’s choice by Juan Francisco.

A three-run fifth inning boosted the Jays lead to 5-0.

Anthony Gose scored after a throwing error by Brandon Workman. Then Navarro singled home Jose Reyes before Juan Francisco’s chopper brought Melky Cabrera across.

Christian Vasquez doubled home Xander Bogaerts to cut the Red Sox’s deficit to 5-1 at the bottom of the fifth.

A Navarro single in the sixth inning gave the Jays its winning margin at 6-1.

Brandon Workman (1-4), who started for the Red Sox, pitched five innings while giving up four hits and five runs.
