Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – On Wednesday night, proud dad Brian Williams reported about his daughter Allison’s being cast as Peter Pan in NBC’s live adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s much loved fantasy tale.
He opened, “NBC has set the casting of the two lead parts of the live theatrical telecast of Peter Pan on the evening of December 4.”
After giving a little background on the show and announcing Christopher Walken’s involvement as Captain Hook, Williams said, “Just today NBC announced Allison Williams will play the role of Peter Pan,” adding that she is currently part of HBO’s acclaimed series “Girls.”
Williams hilariously went on, “Family members confirm she’s been rehearsing for this role since the age of 3, and they look forward to seeing her fly.” A snap of the young Williams was flashed on the screen wearing a Peter Pan costume.
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old actress and singer said that this role is a “dream come true,” and that she is honored and excited to be part of the adventure.
NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said about Williams, “She’s a lovely rising star on the award-winning show Girls—where she occasionally shows off her incredible vocal talent—and we think she will bring the perfect blend of ‘boyish’ vulnerability and bravado to save the day against Christopher Walken’s powerful Captain Hook.”
