Winnipeg, MB, Canada (4E Sports) – The Winnipeg Jets announced they have agreed with forward Matt Halischuk on terms of a one-year, two-way contract worth $725,000.
Originally selected by New Jersey in the fourth round (No. 117) of the 2007 NHL Draft, the 26-year-old Halischuk played 46 games with the Jets last season and had five goals, five assists and six penalty minutes.
Overall, he has played 203 games for the New Jersey Devils, Nashville Predators and Winnipeg. He has 64 points (30 goals, 34 assists) and 47 penalty minutes.
Halischuk has also played 118 games in the American Hockey League with the Lowell Devils and Milwaukee Admirals. He has 77 points (38 goals, 39 assists) and 24 penalty minutes.
