Frisco, TX, United States (4E Sports) – The Dallas Stars signed forward Antoine Roussel to four-year deal. According to ESPN, the deal is worth $8 million.
Roussel had a solid outing in his second season in the NHL.
The 24-year-old had 29 points (14 goals and 15 assists) and 209 penalty minutes in 81 games.
Roussel is the only player in the league to have 25 or more points and at least 150 penalty minutes.
In last year’s playoffs against the Anaheim Ducks, Roussel had three assists and 27 penalty minutes in a six-game series.
Stars GM Jim Nill said Roussel has been a tough and effective player since making his NHL debut.
“His skill combined with his competitive grit create energy for our club that impacts our whole lineup,” Nill added.
Roussel was an undrafted free agent from France and was signed by the Stars last July 2012.
