Boston, MA, United States (4E Sports) – Ray Allen’s agent disputed a report that his client is leaning toward joining former Miami Heat teammate LeBron James with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Jim Tanner, Allen’s agent, said Thursday on Twitter that the report was unfounded.
He said Allen has not decided if, or where, to play next season. Allen, 39, has talked with multiple teams to investigate his options.
Next season would be his 19th in the NBA if he decides to continue playing.
Former Heat forward Mike Miller who joined the Cavs on a two-year deal said last week he was making an effort to lure Allen to Cleveland.
He described Allen as the kind of player who would help the Cavs in key spots in the playoffs.
The NBA’s all-time leading three-point shooter averaged 9.6 points per game in 26 minutes off the bench while shooting 37 percent from beyond the arc last season.
