Nori Aoki’s run-scoring single lifts Royals over Indians in 14

Kansas City, MO, United States (4E Sports) – Nori Aoki singled home Lorenzo Cain in the 14th inning to lift the Kansas City Royals over the Cleveland Indians, 2-1 Thursday at Kauffman Stadium.

Cain opened the 14th with an infield single and stole second before Aoki’s single.

Mike Moustakas doubled and scored on a throwing error by left fielder Ryan Raburn in the eighth inning to give the Royals a 1-0 lead.

The Indians tied it in the ninth with a Yan Gomes’ two-out single that plated Carlos Santana.

Royals starter Danny Duffy gave up two singles and walked two in seven scoreless innings.

Aaron Crow (5-1) earned the victory with a perfect 14th.

Indians starter Corey Kluber allowed only one unearned run while striking out 10 and walking none in nine innings .

Left-hander Marc Rzepczynski (0-3), who gave up the hit to Cain, took the loss.
