Iron Mike Tyson to welcome Evander Holyfield into Boxing Hall of Fame

Las Vegas, NV, United States (4E Sports) – The ear-biting incident, as bizarre as it was, is just a thing of the past, as Mike Tyson has been given the opportunity to present Evander Holyfield his trophy entering the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame.

In 1997, Tyson bit-off a part of Holyfield’s ear, getting disqualified in their championship bout.

Nearly two decades after the infamous incident the boxing legends will be together on Holyfield’s induction.

Iron Mike stated that it is a “privilege and high honor” to present Holyfield.

The former undisputed heavyweight champion was a part of the 2013 inaugural class.

Meanwhile, Holyfield stated that Tyson’s participation will be great.

According to Nevada Hall of Fame president Rich Marotta, the event proves that boxers can set aside previous rivalries between them.

The event will be held at at the Tropicana in Las Vegas later this August.

In a 2013 commercial, Tyson was shown returning Holyfield’s bitten ear, making fun of the 1997 incident.
