Cleveland, OH, United States (4E Sports) – LeBron James’ return to Cleveland was a decision made by heart, no one pushed the four-time MVP to do so according to Maverick Carter.
“We didn’t push him to do it. We don’t push him to do anything,” Carter told ESPN.
Carter also stated that James is a man who is capable of deciding for himself.
James announced his return to Cleveland earleir this month after four seasons with the Miami Heat.
James won two championships with the Heat, before he opted out of his contract and signed a two-year deal with the Cavaliers.
Carter said that James’ decision to come back and play for Cleveland is in his heart.
“The decision about Cleveland was bigger than basketball. It was in his heart.”
James’ business partner also described the champion athlete’s friendship with Dwyane Wade.
Stating that the relationship between James and Wade is forever and is beyond basketball.
Besides James, Carter is also associated with Cleveland Browns’ Johhny Manziel, managing a number of business affairs for the rookie quarterback.
Carter defended the 21-year-old against the issues that surrounded him during the off-season.
“He’s not hurting anyone. He’s not beating anyone up or doing anything that’s criminal. Have fun. People will adjust,” Carter said.
