Sugar Land, TX, United States (4E Sports) – Ex-NBA star Tracy McGrady retired from baseball Wednesday after registering a first career strikeout.
He fanned final batter Bryan Pounds in the Atlantic League All-Star Game at Constellation Field.
“I told some of the guys that I am going to get a strikeout before I stop playing, ” said McGrady. “Thank you Jesus.”
He kept the baseball and said it is “definitely going in the trophy case.”
McGrady posted a 6.75 ERA and walked 10 batters in his four outings and 6 2/3 innings for the Sugar Land Skeeters.
He also got to start the independent Atlantic League’s All-Star Game.
