Ottawa, ON, Canada (4E Sports) – Kyle Turris is ready to take over as No. 1 center of the Ottawa Senators from Jason Spezza, who was traded to the Dallas Stars July 1.
He said he has learned a lot over the past two years from being put into that role when Spezza was hurt, and seeing how hard the matchup is.
The 24-year-old Turris doubled his career high with 58 points last season.
He had 26 goals and 32 assists and was plus-22 playing primarily on the Senators second line.
He also had 29 points including 12 goals in 48 games during the 2012-13 season, when Spezza missed all but five games.
