New York, NY, United States (4E Sports) – San Francisco 49ers’ Michael Crabtree is tired of the off field drama, he said in response to the recent rant of Seattle Seahawks’ Richard Sherman on TV.
“I concentrate on football,” receiver Crabtree told ESPN. “So I don’t really have too much to prove when it comes to talking on this TV.”
Sherman, who claims to be the best cornerback in the game, taunted Crabtree on Wednesday night’s episode of “American Muscle” that he “hopes to play every year for the rest of my career and choke him out.”
Those comments started after the NFC Championship Game last season and continued.
Sherman tipped a pass intended for Crabtree in the end zone in the final seconds of the NFC Championship Game that sealed a 23-17 victory for the Seahawks that sent them to the Super Bowl.
However, Sherman’s postgame comments turned out to be more memorable to some fans.
“I’m the best corner in the game,” Sherman screamed. “When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that’s the result you’re going to get. Don’t you ever talk about me.”
He added, “Crabtree. Don’t you open your mouth about the best or I’ll shut it for you real quick. L.O.B. [Legion of Boom].”
