Tour de Susquehanna West Branch Bike Race

The race will start at the corner of East Cherry and South Third streets in downtown Clearfield. It will be held from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. Pre-registration is $25 and is non-refundable; registration will be $35 the day of the race.
Registration tables will be open from 6 a.m. until 7:45 a.m. in front of Mike’s Barber Shop at the corner of East Cherry and South Third streets in Clearfield.
Riders must report to the registration tables to receive numbers. All riders must be registered for the race. Pre-registration will end July 11.
The race route is 22.5 miles long with only one big hill. The rest of the course is rolling to flat with one nice downhill and a long flat stretch along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River back to Clearfield to finish the race.
Volunteers will be placed strategically along the route to assist riders. Clearfield EMS personnel will be available to assist riders in case of emergency.

High Country Arts & Craft Fair

The 26thannual High Country Arts & Craft Fair will be held from 10 a.m. until 5.pm. July 13 at the S.B. Elliott State Park.
There will be 140 vendors offering hand-crafted wares and collectibles. Musicians and other entertainers will perform throughout the day and chicken barbecue dinners will be prepared by the Clearfield Elks.
The chicken barbecue dinners will be available at a cost of $9. Dinner tickets can be purchased in advance at the Elks Lodge or at the event.
Many other food items will also be available for purchase at the craft fair.
Because the craft fair is held on publicly-owned state park grounds, all of the proceeds are to benefit about two-dozen local charities and organizations.
While the dinners and other food items are offered for purchase, admission, shuttle service from the parking lots and the entertainment are all free of charge.

Clearfield Writing Community Workshop

The Clearfield Writing Community is dedicated to the avid writers of Clearfield County who are interested in improving their skills, getting tips and information from other writers and getting their work out into the public.
They provide information and educational tools for all serious writers in the area who hope to achieve publication. A Facebook page is established for members to plan meetings and events, post their work, critique others and generally encourage one another to write and create.
You can find the Clearfield Writing Community on Facebook or join a regular workshop every Thursday from 6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Market Street Gallery, located at 109 E. Market St. in downtown Clearfield.

You can come out and enjoy music, vendors, food and a great time with the family. Entertainment will include a Fiddler’s Contest at 6 p.m. and Heather Olson and her band, “Spruce Creek,” at 8 p.m.
The Beautiful Baby and Cutest Pet Contests will run Monday through Thursday. Donations will be collected until 9 p.m. Thursday. Winners will be announced on Friday.

At 7 p.m. Thursday, July 17, a program will be held in the DuBois City Park at the Edward V Cherry Amphitheater with “Crossfire.”
In case of inclement weather, it will be re-scheduled. There are bleacher seats available; however, you can bring you own lawn chair.
