Houston, TX, United States (4E Sports) – The Houston Rockets will try to retain restricted free agent forward Chandler Parsons as it traded guard Jeremy Lin to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Dallas Mavericks have a three-year, $46 million offer sheet to Parsons, which the Rockets may match until 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

The Rockets can exceed the cap to keep Parsons, who accounts for a $2.9 million hold on their cap.

The Parsons offer starts with a $14.7 million salary and eats up the rest of the Mavs’ cap space after deals for Dirk Nowitzki and Devin Harris are done.

Meanwhile, to clear out cap space to sign free agent Chris Bosh the Rockets traded guard Jeremy Lin and a future first-round pick to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Bosh has since agreed to return to the Miami Heat on a five-year, $118 million deal.
