Clear-Penn Chapter of IAAP Holds Meeting

DUBOIS – The Clear-Penn Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) met June 10 at the DuBois Business College. There were 13 members and two guests in attendance.

Carol Lundgren, CAP-OM, gave a presentation titled: “A Celebration of the Clear-Penn Chapter.”  She included numerous photographs and outlined the events that occurred during the 2013-14 year.  She also included photographs and information from the annual division meeting held June 6-8 in King of Prussia.

There were six members who achieved Member of Excellence, including Lundgren; Shelly Luchini; Peggy Rhone, CAP; Rachel Syktich; Brenda Heschke; and Mary Syktich, CAP-OM.

Lundgren presented “You’re the Best” awards from the Northeast District director to Shannon Rearick, Heschke, Missy Billotte, Mary Syktich and Luchini.

Also, Lundgren presented a special award to Jackie Syktich, president of DBC, for being supportive of the chapter and letting it use the facilities at the DBC.

Mary Syktich, CAP-OM, with Cathie Hugar assisting, installed new officers for the coming year.  They are: Billotte, president; Rhone, CAP, vice president; Heschke, secretary; Luchini, treasurer and Lundgren, CAP-OM, immediate past-president.

The next meeting will be a picnic at the Sandy Township Park in DuBois. It will be held at 6 p.m. July 8 and the meat, drinks and paper products will be provided.  Attendees are asked to bring a dish to share.

Getting involved with IAAP activities provides an opportunity to develop professional and personal skills of leadership, public speaking, meeting planning and networking.
