Pittsburgh, PA, United States (NewsBahn) – Pittsburgh Penguins left winger James Neal was traded to the Nashville Predators during a draft night deal in which the Pens will receive wingers Patric Hornqvist and Nick Spaling.
Neal racked up 61 points in 59 regular season games this past season.
Hornqvist, 27, netted 22 goals and 31 assists in 76 games this season while Spaling, 25, collected 13 goals and 19 assists in 71 games
The Pens like what the move does with the team going forward.
“In this deal, we got to drop our cap a little bit with Hornqvist,” Penguins general manager Jim Rutherford said, according to ESPN. “We like Hornqvist as an all-around player. Hornqvist plays at the net, goes to the net, works the corners. We like his all-around play.”
