J.A. Happ shines as Blue Jays blank White Sox

Toronto, ON, Canada (4E Sports) – Lefty J.A. Happ pitched 7 2/3 scoreless innings to lead the Toronto Blue Jays past the Chicago White Sox, 7-0 Thursday at Rogers Centre.

Happ (7-4) allowed four hits while walking two and striking out eight.

Adam Lind had three hits and three RBIs while Jose Reyes had four hits and scored twice for the Blue Jays.

Lind opened the scoring in the first with an RBI double before Reyes tripled in a run in the second to make it 3-0.

In the fourth, Lind ripped a two-run single to make it 5-0.

Edwin Encarnacion doubled home a run to make it 6-0 in the seventh.

Then Melky Cabrera plated Munenori Kawasaki with a ground out for the final insurance run.

White Sox right-hander Scott Carroll (2-4) allowed five runs and nine hits in five innings. He walked two and struck out four.
