Giants win as Tim Lincecum no-hits Padres

San Francisco, CA, United States (4E Sports) – Tim Lincecum pitched his second no-hitter to help San Francisco Giants silence the San Diego Padres, 4-0 Wednesday at AT&T Park.

He entered the game with a 5-5 record and a 4.90 ERA, having surrendered 87 hits in 82 2/3 innings.

Lincecum threw 73 strikes and retired the final 23 batters after walking Chase Headley in the second inning. He also induced 17 ground-ball outs in 113 pitches.

Brandon Crawford tripled to deep center and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Hector Sanchez to give the Giants (46-32) a 1-0 advantage.

In the third, Pablo Sandoval hit a two-out RBI double that scored Lincecum to give the Giants a two-run advantage.

Lincecum then singled to open the seventh and scored along with Hunter Pence as Buster Posey doubled off Tim Stauffer.

Ian Kennedy (5-9) allowed four runs on nine hits over 6 1/3 innings for the Padres (34-45). He walked one and struck out eight.
