Boston, MA, United States (4E Sports) – Former Red Sox right-hander turned video game developer and ESPN television analyst Curt Schilling shared via Twitter that his cancer is in remission.
“As of yesterday I am in remission. Start the 5 year clock!” Schilling tweeted.
The five years Schilling referred to is based on the belief that if cancer stays in remission for five years, there is a significant chance the patient has been cured.
He made a surprise appearance at last month’s 10-year celebration for the 2004 World Series champions at Fenway Park.
Schilling looked frail as he made his way from the outfield wall to the infield, accompanied by his son, Gehrig.
