Shooting outside Miami apartment building kills 2, wounds 6

Miami, FL, United States (4E) – Two men fired automatic weapons on a group of people hanging out at an apartment complex in Miami early Tuesday killing two men and wounding six others.

Police are at the crime scene, the Liberty Square Housing complex at Northwest 12th Avenue and 65th Street, gathering evidence to determine the motive of the shootings that killed Kevin Richardson, 30, on the spot, and Nakeri Jackson, 26, who died at the Jackson Memorial Hospital.

A 17-year-old girl was among the six injured and she is fighting for her life at the same hospital. Police did not give her name and the names of the other five people who were shot around 2 a.m.

The gunmen came to the scene on an SUV, stepped out and fired an AK-47 and an MR-15, according to Miami Police. The shooters remain at large as police search for DNA evidence in the crime scene to identify them.

No witnesses have come forward to shed light on the incident.

The shooting was the 13th to happen at the Liberty Square neighborhood since 2009.
