New York, NY, United States (4E Sports) – Carmelo Anthony is expected to inform the New York Knicks near the Monday deadline on opting out of the final year of his contract.

Anthony would reportedly consider the Chicago Bulls among the several teams he may join uponbecoming an unrestricted free agent.

He has discussed the possibility of accepting less than a maximum contract to help the team that he signs with attract additional free agents.

Anthony can ink a maximum deal worth $96 million over four years with another team but can sign for a $129 million deal over five years with the Knicks.

He’s coming off his best all-around season, though the Knicks still struggled despite ‘Melo’s terrific play.
