Lafayette, LA, United States (NewsBahn) – A missing teen girl from Florida was found in Louisiana Thursday morning, about a week after her disappearance was first reported.

The convicted sex offender she was with led police on a 40-mile chase after refusing to pull over according to TV station WAFB’s report.

FOX8 reported the girl, Ashley Lyon, is in stable but guarded condition despite suffering multiple stab wounds.

Steven Patrick Myers, 41, is in custody and required treatment for a pair of what police consider self-inflicted stab wounds. He also suffered wounds from police dog bites.

HLN gave the case national attention shortly after the girl left her Tampa Bay area home out a window. She had been grounded by her parents for weeks for previous interactions with Myers.
