Cuiaba, Brazil (4E Sports) – Russia and South Korea played to a 1-1 draw Tuesday in a World Cup Group H opener at the Arena Pantanal in Cuiaba.
South Korea went ahead in the 68th minute after Lee Keun-Ho hit a 35-yard shot that spilled out of goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev’s hands, over his shoulder and into the net.
But Alexander Kerzhakov kicked in his own rebound to tie the game in the 74th minute.
The result leaves both teams tied for second place in Group H ofollowing Belgium’s 2-1 victory over Algeria.
Russia will face Belgium while South Korea plays Algeria Sunday.
