Spurs blast Heat again for 4-1 series win, fifth NBA title

San Antonio, TX, United States (NewsBahn) – Kawhi Leonard scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, leading the San Antonio Spurs to a 104-87 win over the Miami Heat in game five of the NBA Finals Sunday night at AT&T Center.

The Heat jumped out to a double-digit lead in the opening quarter but ultimately fell in their bid for a three-peat.

San Antonio took over for good in the second quarter, outscoring the Heat 25-11 for a 47-40 lead.

The Spurs didn’t relent after halftime putting up a 30-18 scoring advantage in the third quarter to salt the game away.

LeBron James capped a terrific finals with 31 points and 10 rebounds but he had little help as Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade combined for just 24 points.

Manu Ginobili scored 19 points for the Spurs, while Patty Mills dropped in 17 in just 18 minutes.

Tony Parker added 16 points and Tim Duncan added to his Hall of Fame resume with 14 points, 8 boards and 2 blocks.
