Tulsa, OK, United States (4E Sports) – Skylar Diggins scored 22 to lead the Tulsa Shock past Los Angeles Sparks, 69-67 Friday at BOK Center.
Jordan Hooper added 12 points, including two 3-pointers, as Glory Johnson had 11 points and Courtney Paris finished with 15 rebounds for the Shock (3-5).
The game featured 13 lead changes and 12 ties.
Nneka Ogwumike led all scorers in the first quarter with six as her Sparks took a slim 20-19 margin.
The Shock grabbed the lead early in the second after five straight points by Jordan Hooper.
The Sparks fell behind by seven late in the third before rallying to tie the score at 65 on Jantel Lavendar’s basket with 4:39 to play.
The score remained unchanged until just 56 seconds left when Candace Parker’s free throws finally gave the lead back to the Sparks at 67-65.
Diggins tied the game at 67-all on a layup with 42 seconds to play.
Then in a series of scrambles for the ball, Odyssey Sims had a pivotal steal againt Ogwumike with 16 seconds to play that led to Diggins burying a jumper with a second left for the win.
Parker scored 18 points and Ogwumike had 17 to lead the Sparks (3-5).
