Miami, FL, United States (4E Sports) – Kawhi Leonard scored 29 as the San Antonio Spurs cruised past the Miami Heat, 111-92 Tuesday at AmericanAirlines Arena.
The Spurs made a Finals-record 75.8 percent of their shots in the first half, shooting 19 of 21 to take a 2-1 lead in their best-of-seven series.
LeBron James didn’t get much help from his Heat teammates early in the game, making 14 of their first 20 points as the Spurs raced to an 11 point lead.
Leonard scored 16 as the Spurs took a 41-25 lead at the end of the first.
The Spurs turned on the heat even more by hitting their first six shots of the second to go ahead 55-30 en route to a 71-50 halftime lead.
Then Dwyane Wade scored eight as Heat started the third with a 12-4 run to close in at 75-62.
He later scored four in a 10-0 Heat blast to cut their deficit even more to 81-74.
But the Spurs had a 7-1 run from the end of the third to the start of the fourth to push their lead to 88-75.
James committed three turnovers as Leonard scored six and the Spurs outscored the Heat 9-5 for a 97-82 lead midway in the quarter.
The Heat could not recover as Spurs pulled away.
James and Wade each had 22 points for the Heat, who host Game 4 Thursday.
