Memphis, TN, United States (4E Sports) – Memphis Grizzlies forward James Johnson was arrested by the Shelby County police Friday night for alleged domestic assault causing bodily harm to his wife.

Johnson’s wife claimed the NBA player hit her in the face, choked her and punched a hole in their bathroom door where she was waiting while holding their child.

Officers said that when the victim gave the baby to her mother, Johnson pushed that woman and took the baby before running away from the scene. Johnson eventually returned.

The couple had allegedly been drinking at home earlier that night, and that she refused medical treatment and did not have any visible injuries on her face and neck.

Johnson, who has a court date for Monday, averaged 7.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 18 minutes per game for Memphis this season.
