Lawrence D. Timko Sr., 84 of DuBois died Friday, June 6, 2014 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born May 23, 1930, he was the son of the late Stephen and Martha (Hook) Timko.
On May 13, 1950, he married Margaret “Jean” (Emerick) Timko. She preceded him in death on May 13, 2004.
Mr. Timko retired as a liner from the Jackson China Company in Falls Creek after more than 30 years of service.
He was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, the Falls Creek Eagles and the Polish Citizens Club. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.
He’s survived by a son, Gary “Bones” Timko of DuBois; a daughter, Debbie Hayes and her husband, Chip of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Dorothy Miller and Evelyn Bertiux, both of DuBois; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Larry D. Timko Jr.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 1:45 p.m. Monday.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the St. Catherine Cemetery.
