Knicks’ Phil Jackson fined $25K for tampering with OKC’s Derek Fisher

NY, NY, United States (NewsBahn) – New York Knicks president Phil Jackson set his sights on Oklahoma City Thunder guard Derek Fisher as his team’s potential next coach, but did so too soon for the NBA’s liking.

The league fined Jackson $25K for tampering with Fisher while he was still playing for the Thunder.

The Knicks head man made comments about Fisher at a recent press conference, drawing the attention of the NBA.

Teams aren’t allowed to express interest in other team’s impending free agents.
