DUBOIS – The Clear Penn Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) met May 13 at the DuBois Business College. There were 12 members in attendance.
Mary Syktich, CAP/OM, presented a program on English Grammar 101, the introduction to the English verb. She provided the basic grammar rules for the different kinds of verbs.
Following the presentation, there was a business meeting. Missy Billotte reported that the fudge sale was very successful. Peggy Rhone, CAP, said there were 2,095 box tops given to the Christian Alliance School this year.
Carol Lundgren, CAP/OM, asked how many had achieved there Member of Excellence this year. Five members have earned the distinction, including Lundgren, Shelly Luchinni, Rachel Syktich, Rhone and Brenda Heschke. Both Mary Syktich and Shannon Rearick are also expected to.
Three members will attend the Pennsylvania Division Meeting this year, which will be held in King of Prussia, June 6-8. They are Lundgren, Billotte and Mary Syktich.
The next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. June 10 at the DuBois Business College. The chapter will install its new officers for the upcoming year. Maria Carney, CAP/OM, outgoing PA Division president, will provide an update on IAAP and the PA Division Meeting.

Getting involved with IAAP activities provides an opportunity to develop professional and personal skills of leadership, public speaking, meeting planning and networking. All office professionals are welcome to attend any meeting.
