Cleveland, OH, United States (4E Sports) – Corey Kluber struck out 12 in 7 1/3 innings as the Cleveland Indians topped the Colorado Rockies, 5-2 Friday at Progressive Field.
The right-hander allowed five hits with one walk while recording his third double-figure strikeout game this season. He ends the month with a 4-0 record and a 2.09 ERA in six starts.
Lonnie Chisenhall’s single put the Indians up in the first.
But Carlos Gonzalez had a two-run homer in the fourth against Kluber (6-3) to put the Rockies on top, 2-1.
Then the Indians chased Juan Nicasio (5-3) with a four-run fifth.
Michael Bourn’s single tied the game in the fifth before Asdrubal Cabrera’s two-run homer put the Indians up, 4-2.
Chisenhall added an RBI double to make it 5-2 for the Indians.
Cody Allen pitched a perfect ninth for his second save as the Indians snapped a four-game losing streak while the Rockies fell to 2-5 on their nine-game trip.
Nicasio gave up five runs and nine hits in 4 2/3 innings for the Rockies
