Tallahassee, FL, United States (4E Sports) – Justin Kamplain pitched into the ninth while Mikey White and Wade Wass homered as Alabama avoided elimination in the Tallahassee Regional with a 6-5 win over Florida State Saturday at Dick Howser Stadium.
Kamplain (7-3) allowed one run on five hits with four walks and three strikeouts to earn the win for the Crimson Tide, who will face the loser of Georgia Southern-Kennesaw State Sunday.
Closer Thomas Burrows earned the save despite walking two and allowing a two-run single in the ninth. White finished with two hits while Wass drove in two runs for the Crimson Tide.
Luke Weaver (8-4) was saddled with the loss after giving up three runs – one earned – on five hits with a walk and four strikeouts in five innings of action as the Seminoles ended their season with a 43-17 mark.
The Crimson Tide (35-23) raced to an early 3-0 lead behind White’s seventh homer of the season in the third and two more runs in the fifth.
In the seventh, Moore hit an RBI single before Wass hammered a two-run shot for a 6-0 lead.
However, the Seminoles rallied after Kamplain yielded a leadoff single in the ninth, cutting the lead to one before Burrows got the final out for the save.
