Rangers edge Canadiens, advance to first Cup final since 1994

NY, NY, United States (NewsBahn) – Dominic Moore scored with 1:53 remaining in the second period and goalie Henrik Lundqvist stopped all 18 shots he faced as the New York Rangers blanked the Montreal Canadiens 1-0 in game six of the Eastern Conference finals Thursday night at Madison Square Garden,

The Rangers advanced to the finals, where they will face the winner of the Western Conference final between the Blackhawks and Kings.

Lundqvist was brilliant on a few occasions, batting away one shot in a sprawling effort and even using his helmet to deflect another shot.

Dustin Tokarski was up to the task as Habs goalie, stopping 31 shots but the youngster will have to wait another season to add to his already impressive resume.
