Seattle, WA, United States (4E Sports) – The Seattle Seahawks locked up wide receiver Doug Baldwin to a two-year contract extension Thursday.
According to ESPN.com’s Terry Blount, the deal will pay Baldwin from $16 million up to $19.5 million with the bonuses over three years.
Baldwin was scheduled to make $2.2 million this season as a restricted free agent.
He ranked second in the team in receptions (50) and yards (778) and tied for first with five touchdowns.
The new deal allows Baldwin to hit unrestricted free agency after the 2016 season.
The Seahawks sign productive young players to relatively short-term deals as an incentive for a shot at another lucrative extension.
