Oklahoma City, OK, United States (4E Sports) – Russell Westbrook had 40 points, 10 assists and five steals as the Oklahoma City Thunder outplayed San Antonio Spurs, 105-92 Tuesday at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
Kevin Durant had 31 points while Serge Ibaka added nine points and eight rebounds for the Thunder as they tied the series 2-2.
The Spurs raced to an 8-0 lead with Kawhi Leonard hitting two 3-pointers.
But the Thunder used a 13-2 blast to take a 26-20 lead at the end of the first.
A steal and dunk by Westbrook gave the Thunder a 42-32 lead with just less than five minutes left in the first half.
Back-to-back 3-pointers by Durant pushed the Thunder’s edge to 50-36 en route to taking a 58-43 halftime lead.
The Thunder had 12 unanswered points to boost a 64-49 lead to 76-49 advantage with 4:35 left in the third.
The Spurs closed the quarter on an 18-7 run to cut their deficit to 83-67.
With the Thunder leading 96-77 with 4:22 left, the Spurs used a 7-0 run capped by Matt Bonner 3-pointer to to make it 96-84.
Westbrook’s jumper and free throws kept the Spurs at bay.
Boris Diaw had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Tony Parker added 14 points for the Spurs.
