Paul George scores 24 as Pacers outplay Heat in Game 1

Indianapolis, IN, United States (4E Sports) – Paul George scored 24 points to lead the Indiana Pacers in beating the Miami Heat, 107-96 Sunday in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

David West scored 19 and three other Indiana starters along with backup C.J. Watson reached double figures as the Pacers led wire-to-wire.

George Hill scored the first five points to help give the Pacers a 30-24 lead after one.

Lance Stephenson scored four points in a 5-0 run to make it 46-37.

LeBron James cut the Heat deficit to 50-45 with back-to-back baskets, but the Pacers closed the half with five straight points to make it 55-45.

The Pacers made it 72-54 to start the third and used six straight free throws to enjoy its biggest lead at 81-62 with 1:43 left in the quarter.

The Heat got within 83-74 early in the fourth but the Pacers used a 7-0 run to rebuild a 102-84 lead.

Dwyane Wade scored 27 points and James had 25 to lead the Heat.

Game 2 is Tuesday in Indiana.
