Edwin Encarnacion’s pair of homers power Blue Jays past Indians

Toronto, ON, Canada (4E Sports) – Edwin Encarnacion hit two home runs to lead the Toronto Blue Jays past the Cleveland Indians, 4-2 Thursday at Rogers Centre.

He hit a solo homer in the second off Danny Salazar and added a two-run blast in the fifth off C.C. Lee.

After Encarnacion’s homer in the second, Francisco added another homer off Salazar (1-4) to make it 2-0.

David Murphy cracked a home run for Cleveland to make it 2-1 in the top of the fifth, before Encarnacion hit a two-run homer in the fifth to put the Blue Jays up 4-1.

Blue Jays left-hander J.A. Happ allowed one run and six hits in a season-high six innings. Happ (2-1) walked two and struck out four.

Salazar (6-0) allowed two runs and five hits in four innings. He walked two and struck out three.
