Steve Kerr chooses to coach Warriors over Knicks

Oakland, CA, United States (4E Sports) – Steve Kerr has reached an agreement in principle to a five-year, $25 million contract to coach the Golden State Warriors.

He was thought to be deep in discussions for the New York Knicks’ coching offer and sn opportunity to join his former coach Phil Jackson before he chose the Warriors.

The 48-year-old TNT broadcast analyst is the most sought-after candidate in coaching circles.

He won five rings as a palyer with the Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs during the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Kerr’s family lives in San Diego, and it was thought that proximity was a big factor.

The Warriors management group flew to Oklahoma City to meet with Kerr the same day one of their leading candidates for the coaching job Stan Van Gundy accepted an offer to run the Detroit Pistons.
