Montreal, QC, Canada (NewsBahn) – Just a day after being called up from the AHL, Matt Fraser made an impact in scoring the game’s lone goal at 1:19 of overtime as the Boston Bruins blanked the Montreal Canadiens 1-0 Thursday at Bell Centre.

Fraser knocked home the rebound of a Johnny Boychuk shot that caromed off the boards.

The Bruins leveled the best-of-seven series at 1-1.

Fraser had two goals in 14 regular-season games for the Bruins and knocked in 20 goals in 44 games for Providence.

Tuukka Rask had 33 stops for Boston in recording the shutout, and Carey Price stopped 34 shots for the Canadiens.

The Bruins had two power play chances, compared to just one for the Habs.
