St. Paul, MN, United States (4E Sports) – Mikael Granlund scored twice to lead the Minnesota Wild in a shut out of the Chicago Blackhawks, 4-0 Tuesday in Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinal series at Xcel Energy Center.
After two scoreless periods, Erik Haula finished in front of a rush to tap in Justin Fontaine’s pass to give the Wild a 1-0 lead at 1:41 of the third.
Then Granlund took a pass from Jason Pominville before hitting a backhand that sent the puck past Corey Crawford’s glove for a 2-0 advantage.
Zach Parise had a goal on a power-play at 17:35 of the third before Granlund had his second goal of the game via an empty-netter with 1:17 left.
Ilya Bryzgalov made 19 saves for the Wild, who cut their deficit to 2-1.
Crawford stopped 14 shots for the Blackhawks.
