Toronto, ON, Canada (NewsBahn) – The Toronto Raptors have followed up on their 48-win regular season and run to the playoffs by extending coach Dwane Casey with a three-year pact.
Casey led DeMar DeRozan and free agent-to-be Kyle Lowry to superb seasons on the way to the team’s Atlantic Division crown.
DeRozan was an all-star and Lowry arguably should have been one as a near-unstoppable force and clutch performer in his own right.
The coach has “done an excellent job both on and off the court,” said General manager Masai Ujiri in a statement.
The Raptors season ended in a seven-game loss to the Nets in the opening-round of the NBA playoffs.
