DAHS Academic Team Finishes Seventh at State Championship

HARRISBURG – The DuBois Area High School academic team of Austin Songer (C), Jacob Skubisz (A), John Adams (A) and Aaron Lines finished in seventh place at the Pennsylvania Academic Championship at the Capitol Building in Harrisburg on Friday.

This marks the second consecutive Top 9 finish and put the team into the semifinals again. In the semifinals, the DAHS team lost to Emmaus, which went on to finish second to Downingtown East.

Conestoga High School finished third overall. The DAHS team, under the direction of coach Barry Gallagher, is entered in the P.A.C.E. Nationals in Reston, Va., over the Memorial Day weekend. There will be 96 teams entered from across the nation in this prestigious academic competition.
