3 Charged for 2010 Burglaries at Humane Society

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Charges have been filed against three people accused of 2010 burglaries at the Gateway Humane Society, located on Airport Road, in Washington Township.

According to the state police at DuBois, Jerry Lee Spicher, 30, of Clearfield; Elizabeth Kit Golding, 25, of Morrisdale; and Leonard Eugene Pierce, 23, of Reynoldsville have been charged in the case. A warrant, state police said, was issued for Spicher, who turned himself in; his bail was set at $45,000 straight.

The Gateway Humane Society was burglarized on two, different occasions in 2010. The first incident occurred on Aug. 14, 2010 during which $1,100 was stolen, along with the surveillance tape, said state police, adding a key was used to enter the facility.

The second incident occurred on Sept. 12, 2010 when the suspects broke a side window to enter the Gateway Humane Society. There weren’t any items stolen during the incident while the suspects retreated after a resident pulled into the driveway, said state police.
