Dayton, OH, United States (4E) – A former housekeeper at the Dayton Veterans Administration hospital was arrested Monday after allegedly shooting and injuring a man inside the facility.

Neil Moore, 59, was taken into custody at Dayton’s Good Samaritan hospital, where police found him. Moore’s sister took him to the Good Samaritan hospital after shooting Paul Burnside, 61, and he told workers there he was seeking psychiatric treatment, according to police.

The police were alerted of the shooting in the break room of the hospital basement around 12:15 p.m. An armed Moore was apparently looking for someone inside the hospital and Burnside tried to wrest the gun away from him. During the struggle, Burnside was shot in the ankle and Moore fled driving away on a GM truck.

The police locked down the VA hospital on W. 3rd Street and searched for the suspected shooter. They later found Moore’s truck parked in his sister’s driveway
