Las Vegas, NV, United States (4E Sports) – Jake Shields and Jon Fitch will tangle at welterweight to co-headline the WSOF 11 event on July 5.

The promotion has yet to announce a host venue for the card headlined by a lightweight title bout between Justin Gaethje and Nick Newell.

A former Strikeforce middleweight champion, Shields (29-7-1) is 3-1 in his last four fights, including wins over Demian Maia and Tyron Woodley.

He was released by the UFC earlier this year following a unanimous decision loss to Hector Lombard at UFC 171 and signed with WSOF last month.

Fitch (25-6-1) was expected to fight Rousimar Palhares for the WSOF 170-pound title, but the latter withdrew due to personal reasons.

He was released by the UFC last year after 18 consecutive appearances.
