Whitecaps use strong first half to top Earthquakes

Vancouver, BC, Canada (4E Sports) – The Vancouver Whitecaps scored three first half goals to beat the San Jose Earthquakes, 3-2 Saturday at BC Place.

Kekuta Manneh recovered a rebound and blasted a shot in to put the Whitecaps up 1-0 in the 10th minute.

Designated Player Pedro Morales scored in the 19th and 20th minutes to give the Whitecaps a comfortable 3-0 lead.

Chris Wondolowski scored in the 45th minute to cut the Earthquakes’ deficit to 3-1 at the half.

Wondolowski tallied again in the 90th minute, but time would run out for the Earthquakes.

The win elevated the Whitecaps to 3-2-4 for 13 points. The Earthquakes fell to 1-3-3 for 6 points.
