Brooklyn, NY, United States (4E Sports) – Deron Williams scored 23 to lead the Brooklyn Nets in beating the Toronto Raptors, 97-83 Friday at Barclays Center.
Joe Johnson had 17 points, Kevin Garnett scored 13 while Alan Anderson added nine points and nine rebounds for the win.
The Nets never trailed, leading 34-19 after the first and by 60-41 at the half.
A 3-pointer by Paul Pierce gave the Nets a 71-45 lead at 7:39 of the third.
Behind by 79-59 entering the final quarter, the Raptors used an 11-0 run to close in at 84-73 with 7:39 to play.
But the Nets were able to hold on and the Raptors never got closer than 10 points.
DeMar DeRozan scored 28 to lead the Raptors.
Game 7 is Sunday in Toronto, with the winner advancing to face the defending champion Miami Heat.
